Likes:

  • He watches his doggies a lot, and laughs at them. He has discovered that they are a great source of amusement. Of course, they have discovered that he is a great source of...food. They sit eagerly under the high chair, alternating between looking up at him and down at the floor. It's pretty funny. So far they have scored quite a few teething biscuits. Wait until we begin Cheerios!
  • Sock puppet in Baby Einstein video. Especially the part where the puppet says "BLAH"
  • Electric cords, shoes, dog bowls. We're babyproofing!
  • One of his favorite activities is crawling in and out of the bottom of the exersaucer. (Movie - 8 mg)
  • He often does the 'downward dog' yoga move where he's up on hands & feet with his knees straight and his bottom up in the air.

Dislikes:

  • Being put in the snowsuit, particularly in a car seat

Sleep Habits:

He's been up at least twice a night for quite some time. We're tired.

Other Happenings:

  • On January 24th, Toby played for a while before falling asleep for a nap. Josh went in to check on him. This is what he found.
  • January 24th, Creeping breakthrough. Now Toby can get anywhere he wants, and fast! (Movie - 5 mg)
  • On January 31st, Toby found himself on one side of his highchair leg, and a toy on the other. He crawled right over it! It involved a small tumble, but he recovered quickly. Josh & I were proud at his adventure.
  • February 19th, first real crawling 'steps' where he moved hands & knees while up high. He still manily gets around by flopping and doing his fast military-style crawl.
  • February 20th (yes, this is technically the 9th month but I'm writing it here anyway) Rolls to sitting, and sits up for a while. he's still not a fan of sitting, but does get himself up there from time to time.
  • February 22nd: Crawling breakthrough. Though he still drops to the military crawl when he really needs to get around, he can go many 'steps' in a regular crawl.
