Likes:
- Finger foods: Cheerrios, cut plums, avocado, pancakes, banana, rice
cakes, matzoh, bread, bagel, pear, turkey burger, real rice, chicken
- "Drinking" water from a cup. In reality, Toby has figured
out how to spout water in a small stream. He can actually cover quite
a distance. We may have to take a break from the cup for a while...
- (May 8th) Likes to put stuff on & off of a spoon, and in and out
of a bowl while he eats.
- Using everything as a walker. He pushes boxes, chairs, his highchair,
toys, Tory, whatever all around the house!
- He crawls around while holding onto plastic toy stars (that go on
a stacker toy). BANG BANG BANG. It's really really loud. Beckett is
happy, since effectively we've "belled the cat" (I have video
to post!) He has started crawling with pot lids.
- Opening the dishwasher. If it is locked so he can't open it, he likes
to turn the knob so it turns on! You think he'll like doing dishes so
much in a few years?
- Favorite pasttime is pulling the babyproof material off the edges
of the fireplace brick. Doesn't he know he shouldn't be able to do that?
- Playing with dad: they both growl at each other while crawling to
each other. This game ends in toby getting lots of kisses while laughing
a lot.
- Toby LOVES riding around (while being pushed FAST) on his push-car.
He gets *mad* when you take him off.

Teeth have taken a toll. But in general, he's a good sleeper.
Other Happenings:
- May 6-8, Jess & Toby head to NY to visit with Leslie & Gabriel
Fine and Leslie's family. We had a wonderful time.
Milestones:
- Week of 19th of April...starting to stand unassisted. Now (end of
May) he stands for several seconds at a time.
- April 23rd, first water, drinks from a cup
- April 24th: First pair of shoes
- April 28th: likes walking while you hold his hands. (he does prefer
pushing his little car aroud.
- April 29th: ate Dad's banana (from the banana, rather than bits or
mushed up.
- May1: Jess took something away from Toby and put it where it'd be
"safe" up on the couch. He pushed his little car up, tipped
it over, and climbed up! Oh my!
May 2: Tooth #5 (top tooth #2)
- May 8: Made egg-yolk only matzoh brie. It was a big big hit!
- May 10: Clearly said "Auntie" when prompted by us in Hollis.
Go ahead, say you don't believe it. But it's true, we all heard it.
- May 16th: Push car breakthrough! Before now, Toby would get so frustratrated
when he hit a wall or other obstacle (I have video, it's quite funny.
Will post soon). Now, he cruises to the other side and pushes from there.
He loves to push the car under "bridges" -either peoples'
legs, or his highchair. (he even ducks his head to go under!
