It is important to note, however, that much more information is available in printed form or proprietary databases than the relatively modest information about intellectual property available on the Web. The Internet Patent News Service is an often amusing--if highly opinionated--e-mail compilation of stories and opinions about the patent system (some older stories are archived on the Web as well).

R&J Patent Drafting includes a variety of useful background information on the patent application process at their web site.

The Recombinant Capital Web site has a wealth of information for those interested in licensing intelelctual property in biotechnology or health care.

Stanford has compiled a wealth of material on Japanese intellectual property.

The U.S. House Internett Law Library has compiled a wealth of links.

The World Intellectual Property Organization has a variety of background information and data.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's web site has a wealth of current information and historical data.
