Comics Are Life

Tom Hart has been praised with bringing a Whitmanesque quality to comics. These are comics that breathe large gulps of the living air. By all means, read 'Hutch Owens Working Hard', 'New Hat' and 'the Sands'. Refreshing yes?

If there is one chance for another renaissance in the comics world, it is Paul Pope and his creation 'THB'. It is boldly bold in such a boldly bold manner. Read THP and follow the pigdog ever.

Perhaps if Sebadoh was a comic, it would certainly be Adrian Tomine's 'Optic Nerve'. This is indy rock in all its lo-fi, melancholy glory. Also look for the collected mini's.

Bringing style, grace and NewYorker sensibilities to comics. Seth's 'Palookaville' is a soft shoe of through a brand new yesterday.
