Welcome to my webpage. I am a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at Harvard Business School (Entrepreneurial Management Unit).
I have a MSc and PhD in Economics from Carlos III University (Madrid, Spain) and a BSc in Economics from the National University of Cordoba (Argentina).
My research focuses on the analysis of the motivations of commercial firms to participate in Open Source and the effects of Intellectual Property and Market Structure on Innovation activity. What's new?Take a look at my latest paper, Mixed Source, which is joint work with Ramon Casadesus-Masanell (Harvard Business School). We study a firm's choice between the Proprietary and Open Source business models, but we also consider the Mixed Source business model, in which the firm opens some technologies but keeps other technologies closed. We determine what kind of technologies a firm should open depending on the type of competition it faces, and what is the resulting industry structure.Research InterestsApplied Microeconomics, Industrial Organization.Economics of Innovation, Open Source, Intellectual Property Rights.
